Next steps

In order to generate the revenue needed in the next few years to deliver on our long-term vision for Allianz Stadium, we are proposing to seek permission to increase the number of major non-sporting event days, such as concerts, that can be hosted at the stadium each year.

These discussions remain ongoing with the Council through the planning application process, which is separate from the licensing application. Until that process has concluded, the number of concerts that can be held at the stadium will remain limited to three per year. At the time of our engagement, we expected the planning and licensing processes to run broadly in parallel, but it is now clear that planning will take longer and extend into 2026.

This premises licence application is an important step in the process. While it does not impact the number of events that can take place in the stadium bowl, it does allow us to simplify and modernise the current licence, resolving contradictions and ambiguities and ensuring it is fit for purpose in the years ahead, while also creating a stronger framework for managing activities at the stadium and ensuring that there are appropriate checks and balances in place to ensure that LBRuT retains significant control over operations at the stadium.

Matters such as traffic management, the number of events and the days on which they can take place, as well as crowd size, will be fully considered through the planning application.

Further detail on what the licensing application specifically seeks permission for can be found here. We submitted this to the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in June 2025 and expect it to be considered later this autumn.
