Show your support for more concerts at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham
By hosting more world-class events at Allianz Stadium, we can make better use of the country’s second biggest stadium, deliver real benefits for our local community and generate more investment for rugby at every level across England.
We have now submitted a planning application to Richmond Council to increase the number of major non-sporting events held at Allianz Stadium – but we need your support.
If approved, the application would allow Allianz Stadium to host more major non-sporting event days each year through a careful, phased approach, up to a maximum of 15 event days. This would start with up to six in the first year and only increase if events are shown to be well managed. The proposals would deliver significant local benefits for the local community, for local businesses, for London and for the game of rugby:
For our neighbours:
Supporting our local community through at least 1,000 reserved tickets for every event with priority pre-sale access, a new £1 ticket levy on tickets sold generating up to £1 million annually for our Community Enhancement Fund to enhance event-day operations and fund local improvements, and helping more local organisations make use of the stadium as a community asset.
For the area:
Boosting Richmond and Hounslow by increasing local spending by £28.5 million per year, creating over 275 full-time equivalent jobs, improving transport and event-day management, and supporting the Richmond Growth Plan’s aim for Richmond and Twickenham to become a destination for culture and music.
For the economy:
Generating £86 million in GVA for the UK economy per year, £71 million in local London spend per year, and supporting the London Growth Plan by strengthening the city’s role as a visitor destination.
For rugby:
Enabling over £500 million of investment into rugby over the next five years to help attract 50,000 new players and 500,000 additional fans, while securing funding to upgrade Allianz Stadium for the benefit of fans and players.
